Not sure if true, but heard today that someone who works at the P'ville location in management told a family member that Sysco has stopped delivering food because of bad checks and that they will be serving until they run out of food and then they will be closing the doors.
Could be false, but the person does work there so not sure why she'd lie.

They’re terrible now.
Sammy’s has already went to shite a decade ago

When Jason left, all the experienced managers started leaving also like dominos. Kenny Carr being one of them. When a restaurant loses key management and then replaces them with kids, this is what happens.
Everywhere Kenny Carr has been has been a shite show and a failure. His new wing place will close before Sammys. He makes his money off boiling crawfish, let’s the restaurant go to shite, then he moves on to the next place.
Also, didn’t an investment group buy Sammys in the past year?

Sammy's on Highland was my in-laws fav spot so we used to go there often with them.
I never really understood the hype. It was decent food, but not worth the wait (although, they are hardly the only BR dining establishment like that) *cough chimes east cough*
When I saw FIL a couple of weeks ago he told me he had gone to Sammy's for the last time, that the last 3-4 visits they had, it was terrible.

Sammy’s was never that good but I’d love the recipe for their house salad dressing. Good stuff.

I have it in my brain. Let me dig in old threads and see if I can remember it all.
Ok. Unfortunately, I don't know the ratios so you'll have to play around with it. Oil, vinegar, parmesan, green onions, garlic, salt and pepper, sugar. Make it in the food processor.

My dad got the marinara recipe they used for their mozzarella sticks about 15 years ago. Not sure if they still use it but it was amazing. My mom makes big batches and cans it.

It has been overrated for a long time. Very average food. Not sure why people wait an hour on the weekends for that crap.

I don't know much about Jason,
He is a great guy and a pretty good restaurateur as you can see from the demise of Sammy's and success of The Francis. He was always the driving force behind Sammy's.
And yes.... Sammy's waitresses in the late 90s and early 2000s were amazing. I was fortunate enough to be invited to the Christmas party in 2001. Good times....

I cringe when i drive by there and see cars there. How people can go there still when George’s Southside is a stones throw away is beyond me.
