You ain't lived till you had a spam and shrimp jambalaya at the camp.

I fried some a while back for the first time in a long time myself.
Seemed more mushy in the middle after frying than it used to. I didn't cut them too thick I don't think. Wondering if they changed the texture at all.
As someone else said, rather have fried bologna myself. I had Spam and Treat growing up. But had a lot of fried bologna sandwiches.

PORK WITH HAM, MECHANICALLY SEPARATED CHICKEN, WATER, SALT, MODIFIED POTATO STARCH, SUGAR, SODIUM PHOSPHATES, POTASSIUM CHLORIDE, SODIUM ASCORBATE, SODIUM NITRITE
It's pretty much the same as a hot dog isn't it?

Fried Spam second only to a thick slick of fried bologna for an artery clogging indulgence.

As a kid Spam was a staple in my Dad's hunting supply box, but I was not a fan. Just got back from Hawaii and ate several Spam Rolls from supermarkets. Not bad and a great deal for $2. The stores had scores of different Spam varieties.

For some reason I always liked the potted meat but couldn't stand spam.
And like many had a nostalgic urge for some a month or two ago.
Much better than I remembered
Wife, who was an anti spam person even said it wasn’t terrible

A hot dog with crappy ingredients, yes.

That Spam musubi in Hawaii sure was tasty
Spam musubi is damned good. There's a poke place down the street from us that sells it (it's the only poke place in my general area that sells this item)

My dad used to come home from work for lunch and we’d all eat grilled cheese with spam for lunch, and listen to Paul Harvey.

Pan fried spam is so good. Put on bread or toast with little mustard. Mmmmm Or just thin fried by itself.
That was lunch most days working offshore on a remote unmanned platform.

I never developed a taste for Spam, and my mom tried to get me to eat it more times than I care to think about over the years, and I'd always pass after my first attempt at it.
To me, it's like potted meat, hot dogs and Vienna sausages-----mystery meat, although I could eat the first three from time to time.
Potted meat on crackers with mustard and Vienna sausages right out the can were a once in a while snack for me.
As for hot dogs, I may eat some about 3 times a year and only with chili, mustard and relish on them.

You can actually get bacon flavored spam.

Pan fried bacon flavored Spam is great with eggs, or in a sandwich. Try it, you’ll like it.
