I haven't eaten much Spam in years but I like it.

Ate it a lot as a kid. My dad loved the stuff. He was a WW2 infantryman, went through some pretty brutal shite.

He said when there was nothing else to eat on the lines, when they couldn't set up field kitchens, couldn't send anything up in the insulated cans, couldn't even get C-rations, somebody always had a can or two of Spam. Hormel sent it overseas by the shipload.

So when they couldn't get anything else, a few cans of Spam always appeared. That and a can of tomatoes he said.

yep
I would grab a couple bottles of water, a loaf of white bread, couple cans of potted meat or vienna sausage or spam and throw them in my backpack for a flight to a toadstool or unmanned platform for lunch that day
