Just curious if anyone has the skinny (pun intended)?

Last I saw was at the beginning of the year, it looked like they were making good progress and would be producing by summer.

I'm sure all of this delayed them significantly but I don't think there's been any press or anything.

They are divine, but if you didn't grow up with them you probably won't see what the hype is about

My neighbor works over in that neighborhood and he told my wife recently that they were set back by the virus (no kidding), but they will be opening soon.

Well, they are not going to reopen in their original location and plan to open in Jefferson Parish is the last I heard.

It took the a while to get back up and running after Katrina and then the big fire in 2012 completely shut them down.

There's other fried pies out there to be had, but I've not found one as good as Hubig's Pies.

That's the neighborhood I'm talking about - behind the Walmart next to the HP Long.

Seems to happen a lot with some local businesses. Just look at the Randazzo family and their King Cake wars over the years.

The only thing that remotely comes close is Krispy Kreme's. They make one that looks identical to the old Hubig's and some would argue tastes just as good. I was introduced to them a month ago and they're legit.
