“ Bourbon snobs are the worst.Self important douchebags”
I disagree.
Cigar snobs are the worst. It really is comical to watch them go through the ritual of unwrapping it,cut the end off, light it up with an orgasmic look on their face.Damn things stink.
Kinda reminds me of a dog rolling on a dead animal.Same stupid look on their face and smells almost as bad.

no different than alcohol.
It depends on your palate. Yes, some people don't like it and it's harder to appreciate the depth of flavor unless you smoke enough of them. Then there are the health risks. But we aren't drinking whiskey because it adds years to your life.
But, i've had shitty cigars and really good cigars. Padron as a brand, in general, is high quality cigars. I prefer the Padron' 1964 Anniversary Maduro's, though i used to be a connecticut wrapper smoker before i knew anything.
I don't smoke cigars as much very often. Maybe 1 every 2 months, but i keep some in my humidor just in case. My brother is pretty big into cigars and got me into trying different ones and discerning quality.

Don't throw away the bottle of expense liquor, refill with cheaper, 99% will never be able to tell, trust me.
Been doing this at our tailgate for years. I have the same 4 bottles I bought way back(Woodford, 4 roses, Makers 46, and Old Forester 1920). All are refilled weekly with benchmark which is $15/liter.

I drink the most expensive liquor I can find at all times.
Posted on 8/25/23 at 2:31 pm to WaydownSouth
I don't cheap out on beer, but as fat as bourbon goes I'm usually midshelf. You can tell when it's really cheap, but there comes a price point where theres not a huge difference in a lot of it as far as being good.

It was part of a toast to a dear friend that died last week at 47. The Louie Tre had some mutual significance amongst the group. Like I said it wasn’t a typical indulgence.
I mostly drink Old Crow or Jim Beam at home if I’m not drinking it with just ice.

The Bourbon Snob crowd is worse than the Beer Snob crowd.
Most are Boujee ThirtyThousandaires snapping pictures of empty bottles for Facebook self importance lifts.

I go in cycles. Just now picking up the whiskeys. I am sure I will be back intro overpriced wine by October.
Posted on 8/25/23 at 4:42 pm to WaydownSouth
Why do so many people buy all the overpriced things they do? They are marketing zombies. Critical thinking is a thing of the last. Rugged individualism and independent thinking has been replaced with the herd mentality. I love beer but drinking it and watching TV football doesn’t make me a man. Playing football and then sharing a beer with teammates yes. Moonshine was for real men. Now it’s for yuppies.
