The chef from LaBoca used to post here like other chefs. Haven’t seen any posts in a while.

I thoroughly enjoy laboca.

I've had better grilled hunks of cheese at low rent greek places.

Maybe I just got a shitty plate of cheese that night. If we were invited to go with friends I wouldn't care one way or the other because I liked my steak. It struck me as odd that's the first thing that comes out of everybody's mouth when they hear the name La Boca. I asked the server if the cheese was supposed to melted or soft and she just shrugged her shoulders.

He did when they were opening Primitivo. One of the bests restaruants that couldn't sustain because of location.

La Boca has been a good restaurant.

I will not go there. Garcia has gone well beyond just being woke, which is fine.

He is a piece of human garbage that celebrates the death of Republicans, actively calls for violence against them, and has used his restaurants in support of an actual terrorist group in ANTIFA.

No thank you.

I’m with you. I normally don’t care about politics as it relates to restaurants. I draw the line with him. OP, the guy is a serious piece of shite. Please, do not give him your money. He’s a fat, ignorant a-hole in every respect.

I got that dish on the rec of this board, and it was one of the only fails from here (funny enough - the other being the well done skirt steak from the same restaurant). The cheese is like when your pizza has gotten cold and the cheese turns solid and oily. I don't like it at all.

Granted, I don't like fried/grilled hard cheese at Greek restaurants either.

He is actively financially supporting tearing down the Andrew Jackson statue. He will get ZERO of my dollars even though I love and used to go to all of his restaurants.

We used to go often, after he verbalized his political stance and feelings we have stopped going and actually have not missed it one bit. I hope he fails.

I always enjoy La Boca.

They have a $50 ish tasting menu (4 person min.) that is definetly worth the money. Full Steak, i think 5-6 shared appetizers, 4 shared sides with the steak and a plate of desserts.

You cant beat that for $50

Same. I usually don't care about the political leanings of restaurant owners, but this a-hole goes beyond political leanings with his hatred. frick him.

It's a shame, because High Hat was one of my favorite casual dining options when we lived in New Orleans.

Hideous politics aside, the last few times I've gone both service and food seem to have fallen off some.. There was a time when the skirt and hanger were probably my favorites dishes in the city.

Lol, let him waste his dwindling resources then. He’s down to La Boca and part ownership of High Hat.
