Love Fat Harry's...great place to go to when the Chloe or columns closes down for the night.

I miss the Columns not having that stupid reception podium at the entrance gate. Hate how they took a cue from the Chloe and adopted that bullshite.

Whoever owns this place must be pretty set.

Don’t think anyone can be “set” by owning a bar like that. But, I’m sure he makes a decent profit.

I do love the shitter in there ??

That was one of my regular hangouts a long time ago but I haven’t been there in years. I am glad to hear they are doing well.

Fat Harry's is a throwback staple for us.

Cheese fries and chicken wings always come up clutch there.

Columns is dead

Honestly I could write an essay on how much I hate the new columns.

Covid changed many a thing in New Orleans. And the columns to me embodies that.

Now it’s just another hipster artsy Instagram friendly bar.

It used to BE something.

Honestly was one of if not my favorite place in the city. Shame.

Didn’t fat Harry’s catch on fire and the son of the owner hang himself in the bar during renovations or something?

Same. Hell, throw the 90s in there too.

I don't know if it's still on the menu but they used to have a burger made with ground meat mixed with hot sausage. That, cheese-fries and a Heineken made me fat and happy every time.

Fat Harry’s
A home of bad decisions for Tulane coeds.

I was part of the problem not the solution in the early ‘80s.

OK bar food today.

Always a place to stop when we were in NO with friends in college. Late night after was F&M's.

This. Somehow they made it “nicer” and totally ruined it. It has no soul and the service is terrible. I go to Chloe now instead.

One of the employees died shortly thereafter, it wasn’t in the bar.

Used to get sloshed with Eli at Fat Harry's all the time back in the day. I wouldn't doubt him and Coop still frequent. I know Cooper still lives right around the corner

Apparently superior seafood bought out fats. I think the fats guys still get to keep the lease or something. Supposedly not changing anytime soon.

My best memories of fats were senior year and a few years into college when we came back in town for the Christmas holidays, way before superior was on the corner. The old black janitor guy stayed wasted. What a time to be alive.
