The Pit Room also has a very strong chips and queso game.

Fege’s at either Spring Branch or Greenway is definitely worth a pass.

Brisket and smothered mustard greens.

Must have been an off day. I have never had dry brisket from Pit Room.

I guess. See my pic. The fatty slice was ok but the flat slices were pretty bad.

Your pic looks like slices of lean with a slice of moist underneath. If you don't ask for moist that's on you.

The fatty was ok. But I don’t agree with your logic. Any decent bbq place should be able to have good brisket to include both the flat and the point. I got both cuts to try. Guess it wasn’t their day but I wasn’t really impressed with the other offerings either. It was ok but nothing I would go out of my way for. They must be doing something right for so many people to like the place though.

Highly recommended:
Corkscrew (Old Town Spring) - everything will be great
Roegels (Voss Rd) - best pork ribs and amazing brisket
Truth - same as Corkscrew
Killens (Pearland) - tie with LA BBQ for best brisket I've had
Brett's (Katy)
The Pit Room

When I was there for work, I stumbled into Stockyard BBQ and it was very good. Have also been to The Pit and liked it a lot.

1. Spring creek BBQ
2. Brook street BBQ.
3. Cobos BBQ.

All others don't come close.

Any Top 3 Houston BBQ list that omits Harris County Smokehouse is illegitimate.

Loro is trash - certainly not BBQ. Do not fall for it being a mash up of Franklins x Uchi. Cool building but food and concept is not good.

The food is okay. Certainly not Uchi or Franklin level. And ordering at the bar is annoying at night when the bar is full of people sitting down.

I completely agree it’s not bbq, but I wouldn’t call it trash either. Their happy hour is legit.

Also, for people saying Truth - I haven’t been and I’m sure it’s great, but I’ve driven by many times and seen a really long line to get in. It’s too damn hot for that, I don’t care how good the bbq is.

went to Roegel's (VOSS) yesterday. Ribs and brisket was fantastic. Lots of black pepper if that's your thing. Had the greens - very good. The other sides were standard fare

Truth is amazing. Lines are not that bad - just go early or late lunch.

I had a really good meal there in Dallas. It was one of the first meals where I ate and felt like I "underpaid" recently

I live in the Woodlands so I always go to Corkscrew when possible. I've never been upset going there
