Going to Houston in late August and wanted to get some BBQ. Reading reviews and see Blood Brothers, Rudy's, Kileens and Gatlins. Triple J also. Which is the best or recommend something else

You can skip Rudy’s. It’s not bad, just pretty pedestrian IMO. The rest of your list is fine. You could add The Pit Room and Corkscrew.

I like fatty brisket. Grant Pinkerton showed me his method… highly recommend. Gatlins has been great at times, as well. Truth is consistent, too. As is Pit Room. Others were underwhelming to me.
Albeit a “visitor” depending on what meat/sides you emphasize… the variability is great.
Like List said… where u staying/willing to travel is 1, but what do you want “the best of” is 2.
For good recommendations for what you are looking for… more clarity is prolly needed.

Brett’s is temporarily closed while they move to their new location just down the road from me!!! I would have added them as an option, otherwise.

Tier 1-Pinkerton’s, Truth, The Pit Room(don’t sleep on the tacos, breakfast or otherwise), Khoi if fricking Don ever gets his shite together
Tier 2-Blood Bros, Loro, Killen’s (would be Tier 3 but they acquired Willow from J-Bar-M a couple months ago), J-Bar-M (would be tier 1 but the owner ran Willow off for some fricking reason and there has been a noticeable difference), Gatlin’s for their sides and breakfast biscuit…bbq itself is hit or miss

I don’t get all the hype for the Pit Room. It was not that great when I tried it. We sampled a good bit of their stuff. The brisket was very dry. I guess they get some points for making their own tortillas.
The pork rib was the best thing of what we ordered.

Pinkerton’s, Truth, The Pit Room, and Killens are my favorites. The later two I generally order the beef rib but the brisket is good too.

Personal favorites are Pit Room, Truth, Tejas in Tomball, and Corkscrew in Spring. But like was mentioned earlier, where will you be and will you have time to wait. Some of these places will have a some sort of wait.

I wrote them off for a year or more but have gone back twice the last 2 months and they've improved.
Your pic looks like slices of lean with a slice of moist underneath. If you don't ask for moist that's on you.
