I believe they're looking to have a soft opening Wednesday. Had a chance to walk the place yesterday, looks impressive. Large wine and spirits selection. It will be one of the best if not the best beer selections in AP. And they have a walk in humidor. Nice addition to Dutchtown.

Worked at all 3 stores that have been in Alexandria (only one now).. Expect large selections of liquor and wine along with good assortment of craft beers and cigars and some specialty cheeses.. Gus owns all three stores open in La (L.C, Alex, Dutchtown).. Actually moved his family down south to open this store.. 3rd generation family owned business that takes a lot of pride in what they do! If you have high expectations you shouldn't be let down! Cheers!

The Ellic location has a very mediocre selection, but as some have said, it's the best in Ellic.

There beer selection leaves much to be desired but I'm not sure it really how much they can control. The LC store tries to get as much beer as they can but there are problems. Some might not be in their control. Dates on beers, especially IPAs, leaves alot to be desired. Rarely are the IPAs fresh. I'm not sure that is a function of the store or the suppliers. They rarely have anything that is seasonal type offerings from the breweries. Again, not sure if that's the store or supplier. If they can't get on par with the Marcellos or Calandros, their beer function will fall short. I'm hoping their new location allows them to open up the beer side a bit more which will lead to the LC branch getting a better selection.

I'm much more of a whiskey/bourbon/scotch drinker than beer. As a casual beer drinker I've never had a problem finding new beers to try when the mood strikes me, but I can see how a hard core beer drinker could notice some of the things you mentioned. I think it's probably an issue somewhere in the supply chain as opposed to the store itself. I'm also a fan of the walk in humidor. It's my go to place to get cigars in LC.

Went by there today. They are going to open this Friday. They do have a large wine and liquor selection. They do have a walk in humidor. Their beer selection is limited right now but was told that's only because it's some of what they had in their other store. They haven't started ordering beers for this store yet but will begin soon. Also said if you want anything just ask and they will order. Lastly, they said they will host FREE liquor and beer tastings on Thursdays and FREE wine tastings on Fridays. Said they just want to educate people. It'll be interesting to see how long that lasts. I wouldn't mind paying a couple bucks eventually to different tastings.

The one in LC has weekly tastings that are free also, the ones I have been to in the past have all been really good. You guys should enjoy the new place.

I've been waiting to check this place out for months. I'll probably check it out Friday. I called the other day and they said they'll carry craft beer. I imagine they'll have a decent lineup but will be focused more on wine and liquor since that's the name of the place. If it's any better than La Grove Market in Prairieville I'll be impressed, because I figure that's about as good as the selection gets in small towns.

Will there be a guy to try and convince you that the $60 bottle of Merlot is better and will taste better than the $17 bottle?

"This one has limited character, but you get what you pay for. On the other hand, this vintage has twinges of potpourri and sunshine farts that attacks your pallet with the softest touch like a young virgin. bullshite bullshite bullshite bullshite...."

The one in LC has a great liquor, cigar, beer selection. I don't drink wine but they have a large selection of that as well. The staff have always been friendly and knowledgeable, in my experience.

Except they always ask me if i have a rewards card and I say, "No, but it would probably be in my best interest to sign up for one, what do I need to do?"

Them: "Oh, sorry. We're out of rewards cards."

For beer selection in LC, I usually go to Homsi's. Brian there knows his shite and will hook you up with exactly what you are looking for.

i got my weekly email from Hocus, and they say Gus is opening the one in Prairieville, so it is same family/owner as Alexandria.

Just had a Ranger IPA from there. They have the best selection in town, but it is still imited.

They are open. Huge wine selection. The beer is a little lacking but they will make an order soon. The staff was very friendly and willing to help. I picked up an oatmeal stout beer to try.

I told her about the thread on here and she was very great full the word is being spread.

They just received a shipment of 30+ new craft and import beers last week. I'm told they will continue to add more!
