No reason to go anywhere else if you have a place. I go to Calandros every week so I can get whatever I want pretty much. But it sure is nice to know that if I am headed to a buddy's house and I want to drink something good I don't have to travel 20 minutes both ways. One of my buddy's lives in Gonzales and if it is a last minute invite, there is no way I am headed that far into town. I'm just saying it is nice to have a closer option. Right now there isn't anything convenient. I'd much rather go to Calandros, awesome selection!
I saw both imports and craft that they added. Most of which I have already had but haven't seen over here. I did pick up some Clown shoes Very Angry Beast and Galactica IPA that I hadn't previously seen but later saw Calandros got so maybe they got it at the same time. Everything I have had from these guys(Clown Shoes) has been really good. I did see Saison DuPont which is my all time favorite saison! Mmmm
Haha I wish i was the owner. I just hope they keep it up. The first time i stopped by their selection was so-so but i was told they would be getting more in a week. So i stopped by and sure enough they did. This area needs a good beer selection. Alexander's is the nearest and their selection is decent but Calandros on Perkins is way better. It would be nice to not have to go as far for beers you only find at the cove, the bulldog, or retail at Calandros, etc. I saw that LeBlancs just added some more craft recently but hopefully HP can bring in more since they are a liquor store and don't have to load up on domestics to appeal to the shoppers who aren't beer geeks. I guess we will see what they do. Fingers crossed
They just received a shipment of 30+ new craft and import beers last week. I'm told they will continue to add more!
