That's within my definition of fine dining . . . it's a very particular definition, I know.

A hat or cap is almost 100% function for me (sun or cold weather). It's not really accoutrements.

I sit at my desk in my office with my hat on a lot of the times.

Toll collector?

ETA: I was taught from a very early age never to take your hat/cap off indoors. Always.

Of course, I also walk on the street side of the sidewalk if walking with a lady (my stripper clients included . . . ).

Thing is, if you were in my house you'd already know how I am. Don't like it....frick off.

I don't wear a hat indoors at all. How's that for old-fashioned?

So your classy and was raised right about hats inside but you post crap like this? Now you sound both trashy and pretentious. I don't like a lot of peoples habits but I learn to deal with it without being a douche.

Me either. Of course, I remember the morning paper saying "Dewey Beats Truman".

I too was raised not to wear a hat indoors.

Luckily I grew into an adult that doesn't care about such petty things.

This. Every once in a while I'll wear one .. but it's because I'm at a sporting event or watching a game at a bar and want to represent the team I'm cheering for. I don't wear jerseys or team t-shirts, so a hat fits the bill (pardon the pun) as far as sportswear goes.

Me either, although, truth be told, I do have a Pelicans t-shirt. Am I a dork?

nah, I take it off while eating at a table

I wear it indoors because I often forget it is on my head.

There are a lot of people getting defensive about this subject. I don't wear a hat indoors, and I don't care what you do. It's not that big a deal.

this thread reminds me of some of the good riffs George had on hats

backwards hats

hats in religious context
