I saved one that Jibbajabba posted here. Very similar, except no bread crumbs and formed only 4 large patties.

My SO grew up in a basic meat and potatoes family. She says it's one of the best meals I cook, which stings a little.

Thanks, Will Cover. Cooked this last night along with some homemade scalloped potatoes and it hit the spot.

It's always a hit here when I do it. The last recipe I made from The Cajun Ninja was "Sticky Chicken." It's essentially Chicken Stew, and it was delicious as well.

His Crawfish Etouffee is the best version of this dish I have ever eaten.

This was my go to along with their Fried Eggplant App at Sammy's in Central before it shut down.

Don't know which I miss more that Eggplant or HB Steak.

Good question. Maybe it’s regional. Plenty of people from northern states don’t know what a hamburger steak is, so maybe it’s what they call Salisbury steak.

When I was going to USL, one semester I lived with four other girls a few blocks from Piccadilly in the Oil Center. On Wednesday evenings we’d walk to Piccadilly for dinner. There was a Mexican plate special that some of my friends got, but I always got the hamburger steak. I wish I knew how they made theirs! There was a very thin gravy, maybe more like a jus, that I just loved, and strangely felt compelled to eat with saltines on the side. Anybody know how to make Piccadilly’s hamburger steak?

I really like the Cajun Ninja recipe. That onion gravy is money.

I had a couple pounds of fresh ground meat and made this for dinner last night. The only thing I did different was make my burgers a bit bigger, used homemade beef stock and added some sliced portabella mushrooms to the gravy.

It was a big hit.
