This thread is full of OT flavor on the food board. Crossover thread of the year material right here.

I'm still confused what supper club is about. For poor folks who is not OT rich, Is this some kind of an eating experience where people mingle with everyone and hang out?

IS it like a socialite party every night?

Only for movers and shakers that hold court.

My only time there was with another couple for an early reservation. So the atmosphere may change later in the night. However, my experience suggests the goal is to make it a trendy spot for a younger, affluent, crowd.

That said, this is BR. So while there were many people in the restaurant there that seemed to fit the mold of the target customer, there were also several that looked to fit the $30,000 millionaire role. Thus, I'm not quite sure if the BR demographics will allow them to ever hit their target audience.

Not while I was there. It was no different than any other restaurant where people were sitting at tables and interacting with their individual parties.

In sum:

The service was excellent.
The vibe/atmosphere was trendy, and somewhat pretentious, but not obnoxious.
The menu was not terribly creative for the price point and my meal wasn't great. (Good, not great)
The drinks were pretty weak...particularly for what you paid.

Granted, we didn't skimp on anything, but my wife and I had one of the most expensive meals we've ever had in BR. The meal consisted of an appetizer, main course, side(s), shared dessert, drinks (so not a large volume of food to increase the cost). For that price tag you are kind of expecting one of the best meals (taste/quality-wise) you've ever had in the city. It wasn't that. You can get a better steak/fish, drinks, sides elsewhere at other "nice" restaurants in the city for significantly less.

It's different for BR and worth trying at least once. But if I were taking guest from out of town to a nice dinner in BR, or celebrating a special occasion, the Supper Club isn't where I would take them.

That's pretty much everywhere you go. Especially at the Grove on Ole Miss home games.

That's exactly how I summed the place up. Their target demographic cannot keep the place afloat.

They're going to have to tone down the trendiness because the average age in their is 60 years old

A lot of younger women going with the sugar daddies who can afford it, in exchange for arm candy -- maybe that was their true target demo, hence that section of the menu?

$30k is straight poverty in America. Maybe the new phrase should be 70-80k millionaire.

Supper Club seems like the dinner companion to hayride scandal.

I would imagine so. Real movers and shakers have been around the block. They arent young-ins.

no sir they are not hookers. Simply young women who are in need of mentorship and financial support while they get their college degree. You might call it a mutually beneficial "arrangement"

He's too busy watching One Slap Magee hold court at happy hour. Us serfs are the least of his worries on a Friday.
