Lobster was tough. Sauce bland. Red sauce at that. I suspect an Alfedo would pair better.

I’m sorry I can’t get past this. What chef thought “hey let’s do a lobster dish with pasta and use a red sauce!”

The point of the supper club isn’t to have top notch food. It’s to hold court and be seen doing so.

You should thank your lucky stars if you even get to be in the same room with some of those movers and shakers.

A lot of the high dollar cheesy places in Miami will have someone walk you to the restroom. This place is likely inspired by places like Papi Steak and Komodo

To be fair, it’s fairly common in 3-Michelin star restaurants as well.

Of course. As is classically trained chefs, impeccable service and creative dishes

This place has the playbook of the cheesedick, paycheck to paycheck but use an Amex platinum joint

That was a little bit of my point.

This place seems (I emphasize seems because I haven’t been there) to be focusing on all these little things to seem upscale and trendy, like DJs and following you to the bathroom, but not particularly caring about things like “food.”

It’s a bold strategy, Cotton!

It was a basic vodka sauce, our waiter told the person who ordered it what they use and where she could buy it.

Yeah, we were confused. Not actually Truffled Lobster Pasta...like truffle fries. Apparently they buy the sauce from a company called "Truff"...thus the confusion.

This may or may not be the company

Truff

Are you saying a waiter told you that they use a store bought vodka sauce and where to buy it?

If I’m reading that correctly, I can’t believe they are charging these prices.

Wait. Do they seriously do a lobster pasta with a jarred sauce? Good lord.

Looks like someone posted photo of their Lobster Pasta dish on page 2 of reviews on the Ruff website. That Lobster pasta looks very similar to what I saw last night. Sorry no link for page 2, just going to have to navigate for yourself.

Just to be clear, the $300 meal you ate last night was proud to share their secret of jarred sauce on the menu?

Well once the server said it was served with a red sauce we started asking questions. We were confused with the title being "truffled". He kept saying "you know the company?". We were like no, what are you talking about? He kept saying Truff...Still confused we just ordered it because...well let's be real, It's lobster and pasta...you can't frick that up. I didn't think about it again until today and google searched Truff.

Truff pasta sauce is great but to pay like a huge markup for it in a restaurant is laughable

I can’t imagine spending hundreds of dollars on a meal at a restaurant that doesn’t even have a true chef

I always laugh at the beer was cold. Is this a backhanded insult because the beer options suck? Or are we actually saying the beer was cold, like some places youve been to serve warm beer

I always think the same thing

The waiter told the couple who ordered the dish about it. The music was so loud I didn’t hear it at the time but I saw their reaction. Followed up a few days later just to confirm he didn’t say it was a sauce just “like” it. They swear he said it was a jar sauce.

That wasn’t even our server’s most egregious error that night.
