I will note, none of us got steaks and I am sure they probably executed those well but I am just not a steak house guy.
I don't understand why people go out to eat steak when it is probably the simplest thing to make at home. Boggles my mind every time.

You only order dishes at restaurants that are impossible for you to make at home?
What do you order?

Of course not, but I don't go out for BBQ and seldom go out for steak. I make much better BBQ in my back yard and why pay a lot of money for a steak when I can easily make it at the house. I admit I still on occasion order a steak.
All other things are either cheap enough to order out or are a mess or pain in the butt to make at the house. For me anyways.

Why don't we just ask the resident socialite and man about town? Surely true movers and shakers have an opinion on the matter.

Still, bro? Jesus, move on. Movers and shakers is a term. Sorry you’re too ignorant to have never heard it. Grow up and get over it. The horse is dead.

I’m enjoying this thread as much as the Coastal Bridge thread. If Kelly Sills is ever spotted in Supper Club, this board will implode.

One of the most clichéd, idiotic responses on this board. Why go out to eat at all? I mean, other than sushi or haute cuisine, I can make most things that I eat out, at home.

I’m in the middle. Even though I can make most things at home, some are more expensive and time consuming.
Example would be a proper Panang Curry.
Or just about anything fried. But that’s just because I don’t like the greasy mess or disposing of the oil. Haha!

Exactly! If I’m going out to eat, which I rarely do, the. It isn’t going to be something I can easily replicate at the house with minimal mess.

It's just a weird comment. Almost as if it's inconceivable that someone would go to a restaurant for a reason other than they can't make the dish easier at home. I go out to eat for a wide variety of reasons, and I would presume that most posters on a board devoted to food and drink likely would as well.
Off the top of my head, I go out to eat because of, among other things, ease; laziness; to socialize; to try something new; to celebrate; to experience good service; to experience a talented chef (not all of those are applicable simultaneously, obviously).
It would just never occur to me to say "It boggles my mind that someone would go to a steakhouse since steak is easy to make at home". The fact that this type of statement keeps rearing its head around here is what boggles my mind.

What a great solo conversation where you caved to yourself and admitted you were just lying.

I hear you.
I had meatloaf with sage gravy and sautéed onions and mushrooms at a restaurant last night.
We sat at the bar, talked with the bartenders and the couples on either side of us. It was fun.
Back to steak, I will pay $65 (or whatever) for a steak at Hal’s (a good steakhouse in ATL), but I won’t pay $30 for a steak at a place like where we went last night. So I can understand what some might be thinking.
