Meanwhile Parish has no problems whatsoever keeping Envie, Southcoast and Canebrake in stock.

The Ghost hops had a little sharper edge than what I cared for. I do think Ghost is a superior beer, but to each his own. Opus vert is really gaining my favor, and I do realize that Opus and Ghost are not in the same category. I'm just that guy, and everyone should enjoy what they enjoy.

doesn't matter how many times you post that it isn't true, fresh Envie is hard to find right now.
Posted on 5/24/16 at 7:39 pm to tduecen
It's always in stock. No matter where you go. Might not be the freshest, but its there.
If Envie and the other beers are always in stock then Ghost can be as well. Why wouldn't Parish increase production? Because than it would lose it's hype. Which makes me wonder if it's really as good as y'all make it out to be? I'll probably never know, because Envie is always in stock and I'll just buy that.

Ghost can be as well

Why wouldn't Parish increase production?
quote:Yeah it is just us, forget national publications ranking it best DIPA in the South, BeerAdvocate having it as a 95+ etc, it is because of this board.

quote:Well at least someone is willing to drink old Envie, my local store has 8/15/15 on the shelf, will you come buy it.
ecause Envie is always in stock and I'll just buy that.

How much do you know about the specific hop varieties used in Ghost, their availability/demand, and how simple it is for a brewer to acquire as much as they want?
I'm guessing not very much by some of the statements you're making.

I think I saw it if it's enroute to LV

They must have a ton of opus left

Yeah I was trolling earlier about them limiting on purpose. Hop availability for ghost is the main culprit behind limited production. And if not mistaken, prices of some of the hop varieties used for ghost have skyrocketed recently. A friend of mine says that they're aiming to alternate monthly releases of ghost and opus to cut on costs

A whole batch of beer, brewery only, zero distribution

Cant they brew different size batches? Not being sarcastic, just not familiar with their equipment...
Posted on 5/24/16 at 10:24 pm to gmrkr5
They have 1 or 2 90 barrel fermenters and 4 60 barrel fermenters. The sizes could be off, could be 1 60 and 4 30's. Anyway, saw the brew calander for the week during the opus release. I think 3 days were devoted to canebrake, 1 day to about coast, and 1 to GITM. That was just that week. But as you can see, canebrake is still their money maker so they brew more of it. And I would assume that they may alternate their hopped up beers to coincide their releases.

So the head brewers I talk to all over the country that say they are limited by availability of certain hops are all lying about their production being limited by shortages of some hops? Or are you just an idiot? My money is on (b)
