Not looking to pre-order with custom lettering or anything... Need recommendation for legit cake options ranging from Grocery store bakeries up to Boutique bakeries.

What is a solid choice to walk-in and pick up a delicious cake in Baton Rouge on the day of the birthday ?? (cake is for an adult)
Ex. Carrot / Lemon / Anything Else

TIA for any/all recommendations.

cheaper option but still delicious

petit four cake from Oak Point (central or watson not BR though)

For additional info later in case someone needs it- Sams cakes are quite tasty for vanilla and chocolate plain cakes and the double layer cookie cake is good for how inexpensive and large it is

Costco has very good cakes and pies if you need to get something for an office party or middlebrow family gathering. (I wouldn't roll up with one for Grandma and Grandpa's 50th anniversary, but for Sunday dinner at their house, I totally would)

Agree. Oak Point in Central makes excellent cakes you can just pick up. And they are pretty cheap.

Had some Chantilly from Rouses at work today and was impressed. Wonder what Whole Foods charges, the Rouses version was almost $40.

Oak Point also has excellent grab and go cakes in the $20-30 range.

We have really good luck with Rouses. Fresh and reasonably priced.

Rouses calls them Gentilly
They have a Chocolate Strawberry version that is the best cake I’ve ever had
I craved it for weeks after I first tried it

It’s pretty rich & not for everyone so I didn’t suggest it earlier

Rouse’s is what you’re looking for. Good cakes, good prices, and good selection.

Cake Goddes is awesome, but I’m pretty sure you have to order ahead. And the cakes we’ve gotten from there have all been over $300

I know! And I can at least have a good bottle of bourbon for a few weeks.

They do make some good looking cakes though. And they all actually taste really good. This was on their FB:
