It is a well known fact that feed lots are a major contributor to the distruction of our ozone. Which brings skin cancer. Which kills people.

I figure if we ever have a kid we will just buy sunscreen, no way it happens before I take myself out with meat. Brisket is too damn good.

Great to see this! Way to go NOLA.
Dirty smokers can go outside and smoke like the trash they are.

This will cost the state tens of millions from Harrah's alone. Once again government cannot get out of their own way. And i'm not a smoker

The bill is expected to receiving ammendments that will exempt Harrah's and a few other places. FYI

Common sense should dictate money will be lost but then again most of the people that are in favor of this voted for Obama "Twice" so i understand why they cant make the connection.

The real problem this creates is with the bars without areas to smoke. They will now have people loitering out front these places. It will create trash and noise in our neighborhood streets.

The city counsel is not worried about your neighborhood they are worried about looking like they care. Its vote now and worry about the repercussions this creates later.

Super Duper Fantastic! We are heading to NOLA in March and the only thing I hated about my last visit was all the cigarette smoke in the bars. Glad to see NOLA join the 21st century. Now about the crappy roads.....

Many tourists hate the smoke in NOLA bars so perhaps any loss by locals will be made up by tourists who will be more willing to have drinks.
Not to mention the health cost implications.

That's the thing. People who smoke will not stop going to bars. In the end, this will be a great thing for the city.

maybe lots of people who stay away from these places because they reek of cig smoke will now start spending money there? I go to far more places now that smoking is illegal where I live than I did before. the good places may actually see an uptick in business

Really, like it or not, it's the future. Already law in so many big spots around the country.
