I have been seeing the frozen lobsters on sale at winn dixie and Alberston’s. Anybody ever try and use these in any recipes and if so, was it even worth it. Well aware it is not a substitute for a good steamed lobster, just looking for something different to cook.

I picked up a lobster at albertsons for my dad a few weeks ago. He had it with a steak and said it was pretty good.

What are they charging for it? If it’s cheap, then why not give it a shot? If it’s pricey, I’d say pass.

I've seen them as low as $5 a year or so ago. I'm sure they're more now.

We used to get them for the kids when they were young so they would think they were eating fancy. Albertsons will steam them for no charge and to me they are plenty good especially for $5 a piece.

It’s a whole cooked lobster. Thinking about maybe a lobster bisque or doing a lobster roll. Somewhere you can flavor it up.

I may be completely off base here because I'm old enough to have gone to restaurants where you could pick your lobster out of the tank and have them cooked, but doesn't it rank with frozen shrimp/fish where it's all frozen before thawed in the store?

I buy frozen tails at Winn Dixie and bake them with a crab stuffing. They come out great -my wife never orders it in restaurants because she likes it much better at home. Too many restaurants serve overcooked, “rubbery” lobster.

Holy crap please share a recipe. I’ll get some Maine lobster and try it. Promise to post pictures if you share how to make it.

I bought some at Sam's and they were terrible. Tried to make lobster Thermidor and the meat was not good at all.

I would avoid. Live is only marginally more expensive.

I picked up a 2lb bag of frozen lobster chunks for $30 from Costco to make lobster rolls. This was at the recommendation of a friend who has done it. Probably won’t make until next week though.
