Grandma's Rice and Gravy
Sixlets
Hubig Pie

Sometimes for a nostalgic super quick-fix I take canned green beans and add a stupid amount of butter and tony's. Just the way Maw Maw used to do it!

I think they were 6.5 oz bottles. Chug those little cokes when ice cold and your eyes would bleed.

I have been craving a chopped beef steak from Piccadilly for weeks. Srsly, I'd steal one from a child at this point.

this is one of the things that I craved intensely when I was pregnant with my oldest... never totally got over it, I guess.

Tuna Pot Pies
Lotta-burgers from Frostop
McKenzie's Blackout Cake
Manuel's Hot Tamales

Luckily, if I get a craving for any of these, I have figured out how to make a reasonable facsimile. My Blackout Cake is actually better.

yea, but i'm hardcore like that

I was thinking of the newer bottles (in regards to the 10 oz)- still glass but with a plastic cap on them. Good memories of the 6 or 6.5 or 10 oz either way

The only thing I ever got at McKenzie's was the Blackout Cake. I never heard of Broadway Rolls.

Chicken fried deer or anything with deer in it. My mom hates deer meat, but my dad is a taxidermist and he always gets deer meat. He tries to sneak it into everything to trick my mom into eating it. Deer Spaghetti, Deer Chili, EVERYTHING. She would get so mad. But I liked the chicken fried deer and pasta salad.

One thing that brings me back to my childhood in a way, is how my mother would try to make us eat liver.. and when we'd ask what kind of meat it was, she'd say, "Beef"...

depended on how much time he felt like putting into it. If he had time- it was very tender and very good. If mom were coming home soon, it was random chunks fried and it was hard to eat.
