i'll bet they got a big kick out of the little white kid that couldn't decide if he was black or latino that day ... the ebonics one sentence followed by a little spanish the next must have added up to hours of entertainment ... and then, i am sure they marveled at how the little guy was an expert on every subject possible ..

Living in Gentilly, it was the weekly malt I got when Dairy Dan passed by on Wednesday evening. After moving to BR, it was Hoopers on Scenic Highway.

Mom's Fried Chicken on Sunday for lunch after church. A honey bun and chocolate milk from any bait shop on the way to Lake Verrett or False River with my Dad.. A thick homeade chocolate shake in the blender as a late night snack on the weekend.

Red beans and rice. But not exactly for a good reason. I grew up in a house where every Monday was red beans and rice day. I grew to hate this meal and I still will not eat it 27 years later.

Those frozen breaded chicken strips. I used to eat those like there was no tomorrow.

this is one of the things that I craved intensely when I was pregnant with my oldest... never totally got over it, I guess.
I'd have to drive to the piccadilly in the Westmorland shopping center to get mac/cheese for my wife when she was preg...it was her only craving.
