Headed to the Key's next week. Staying in Marathon and spending one full day in Key West. Any recs would be appreciated.

Just off travel board recs and online research I've got Florida Key's steak and lobster house and Irie Island eats in Marathon.

Square Grouper and Lorelei in Islamorada

Key West:
Hot Tin Roof
Cuban Coffee Queen
Kermits (key lime pie)
El Siboney (cuban sandwich)
Garbo's Grill
Thirsty Mermaid
The Jerk
Off the hook
Harpoon Harry's

I know we won't be able to hit all those in Key West, but any real world experience would be helpful.

Nine One Five on Duvall Street was outstanding.

If you can get a reservation at Latitudes it is supposed to be great. You have to take a boat to get to the restaurant.

ETA: These are both fine dining restaurants. Looking at your list they're a cut above what you have listed if you want a really nice dinner.

If you’re only in Key West one full day I’d just opt to snack instead of getting a big meal or two so you can try more stuff out. Get you a Cuban coffee, some key lime pie, a Cuban sandwich (Ana’s, Sandy’s, 5 Brother’s), definitely get a bite at Garbo’s while listening to live music at Hank’s, go to the harbor (Alonzo’s, White Tarpon, Conch Republic, Boathouse will all have cheap small plates) for happy hour.

ETA: if you want one nicer lunch or dinner, Louie’s Backyard.

Cafe Sole in Key West is phenomenal. Requires reservations for dinner.

We were in Marathon this past July and ate at a number of casual restaurants. Marathon liqour and Deli makes Togo subs that are really, really good. Keys fisheries is a counter serve seafood place and Porky’s seafood is a good sit down casual place. The stuffed pig was great for breakfast.

Eaton St Mkt (I believe that was the name) was a really good little lunch place.
And the Lobster Pizza at the Seaside Food Truck was also really good.

Highly recommend The Key Colony Inn and The Island Fish Company. Both are on Key Colony which is 5 min from Marathon. We ate at both this summer and really enjoyed our meals.

I really like the bar there. Plenty of space and outside. Started/ended at Mangoes the few days I was there. Would generally recommend but didn't try much of the food.

We like the outside area a lot and try to sit there if they let us. I like the trees growing up through the roof. To me it always had a nice Key West Feeling.

Little Pearl in Key West is great. I also recommend doing a happy hour progressive around the spots over by the marina. Lots of half price drinks and food.

Mangoes

I like mangoes as well, particularly sitting at the bar which is half inside half outside.

Louie’s backyard is great, again sitting outside is great, you can see the water.

One place I haven’t seen mentioned is Little White House Subs. Great lunch spot right by the key west art museum and adjacent to the mel fisher museum.

Pepe’s was our go-to in KW, as it was right down the block from our b&b. Seven Fish was also a good dinner option.

We also stopped at Hogfish Grill on Stock Island. Very unpretentious, but a very good fish sandwich.
