Fleur de Lis is a Baton Rouge institution. That implies enough people have found it palatable to have survived for 70+ years. Certainly doesn't mean everyone likes it.
I suspect FDL will still be around when all the trendy places around it have come and gone twice over.
I am from Baton Rouge.
I like it.
To answer OP's question - it hasn't changed in the 50 years I've been eating it.

Roma Pizza used to be my go-to, but NY Pizza & Pasta on Jones Creek is better. Gotta order a whole pie though, fresh out of the oven, not the premade slices.

I've heard nothing but good things about this place. Need to check it out.

Have lived in BR for 20+ years, took the advice of locals touting the pizza of both establishments. Gave each several chances and was always left wondering what all of the fuss was about. Never returned.

never understood it even back in the 1980s when i was at lsu. seems like the pizza crust was almost burnt and not much in the way of toppings.
maybe i'm remembering the wrong dive under the interstate
Pastime is under the interstate and they have burned every pizza they have ever served.

I am not from BR but worked there for 8 years or so in the past. I’ve been to FDL 3 or 4 times and enjoyed it. I have no problem giving the GFY attitude right back

I also am from Baton Rouge and have been eating FDL pizza for well over 50 years. Hasn't changed a bit. I always have loved their pizza and still do. My favorite in town. It is a dive and don't like having to use cash but I usually pick it up to go and bring home to eat. Sometimes I get the half-baked one and finish at home. But Red Zepplin does have some fine pizza as well. Been wanting to try the new place Fat Boy's by LSU.

FDL pizzas are smaller and they are not consistent anymore. If you liked them in the past, you will probably still enjoy them most of the time. But you will frequently get one that is light on ingredients or cheese or unevenly cooked. It’s been years since they switched to modern conveyor belt ovens, but the old pizza ovens pies were way better.
At Pastime, just get the calzone instead of a pizza. Fresh baked dough (probably not homemade though) is much better than their cardboard texture discs they use for pizza.

Is Godfathers still around?
I'll take Godfather's from the 1980's over anything that is out there today.

Sicily’s and Mr. gatti’s > Godfathers

Bunch of haters just to be hating in here.
Fleur-de-lis is good, IMO, as is other pizza in BR.
South LA isn't known for its pizza. You want great pizza, go to Chiraq, NYC, or Italy.

Best pizza in BR was DeAngelos for ages. Now its Wildwood.

Yes, still good. You will find someone who hates everything, no matter what. At there 2 weeks ago and the service is not Ruth’s Chris, but its old school and fun. They are NOT rude at all.
