First time at Pinetta’s

Is the 90 minute wait for food normal? We’ve been here sine 5:30 and the waiter said it’ll be another 30 minutes and said there’s no point in saying anything to the manager because she’s apparently psycho.
But I heard the food’s good so we’ll see.

Haven't been in over 40 years. Sorry. Can't help you. I am told the dust on all the bottles on the shelf is original.
If you're still there waiting for food after that long. You're the dumbass.

It’s good food but not worth 90 minute wait.

25 years ago yes i'd wait. Now, hell no.
The Bubola's have been gone since the late 90's as has Pinetta's to me.

We go from time to time..... it’s never been a 90min wait for food.
20-30min wait to sit, get a bottle of Chianti and order apps. Then order the entrees. Maybe 1.5-2hrs total.

One hand on the fork, one on a rolled up newspaper to swat the roaches.
Great schnitzel though.

Last time I was there we waited about 45 minutes for food to come out and it wasn't worth it

One time I went the spaghetti was really watery. Plus they dump sauce on naked noodles instead of putting them in a pan and heating them together which is a dealbreaker for me.

Never understood the love for this place...food is very average....much better places in town

The red sauce is the best in town. However, the place always seems understaffed when I go, and food preparation, presentation, and service suffers. The feeling I get is that she tries to get by with the absolute minimum labor she can.

Make sure to take an allergy pill before you go.
That place is dustier than an Egyptian tomb. Not to mention the owner is bat-shite crazy.

Pinetta's will always be a special place for me.
Grew up eating there. Liked it so much I worked there in college.
Great lasagne and schnitzel. Great red sauce.
But, Mrs Barringer (owner) is nuts. I quit due to her continually scheduling me during LSU games, and she and her husband sent me a pink slip in the mail. Food takes forever (never 90 min though). Dirty, dirty restaurant. The kitchen is SUPER small. I'm talking one 6 place stovetop and two ovens. The size of a family kitchen.
I'll still go there when I'm in BR though.

It’s been decades since I’ve eaten there, but when I was living in BR, I might be willing to wait a while, but not 90 minutes.
I will say that I did really enjoy the food then.

Last time I was there for lunch there was one waiter serving the entire restaurant. Not only was he taking care of tables, but he also was making drinks as bartender, while she sat nearby on a stool barking out orders. I felt terrible for the guy because he was clearly overwhelmed.

have you received the food yet? If so, how was it?

Ive always been a fan of the shrimp au gratin and even used to make it myself that way a few times. It has their good red sauce in it, comes in a skillet.

Wow. Been there a few times, can't remember the wait times being that notable. A 90 minute wait is crazy.
