Finding outside skirt steak?

Can't say I have ever seen it in a grocery store. I am guessing larger areas will have specialty shops that carry it, but will I ever find it at a normal grocer? Ask the butcher?

I don't know where you are, but you can very easily find skirt steak in BR at multiple grocery stores, and the Hispanic stores.

Try a Mexican or Argentinian grocery store.

Publix might not be in your area, but they have it pretty regularly or at least my store does in Georgia.
I was surprised when I first saw it because I had never seen it in a regular grocery store before.
Pricey though - a little over $20/lb IIRC.
Totally worth it for a splurge.
Edit - $24/lb and that was a year ago.

I use it for fajitas all the time. I get it in Baton Rouge at Fresh Market on Perkins. They always have it. Really one of the best meat markets in town.

I’ve found outside skirt in grocery stores and meat markets, but not nearly as often as inside skirt.

Outside is the best marbling. Inside is leaner and a bit tougher. Flank is very lean

I check every time I go. Always inside.
