I have to say, the Popeyes spicy chicken is awesome.
But...
The jalapeño bacon spicy chicken sandwich at Wendy’s is by far, the best chicken sandwich available at a fast food restaurant.

I’ve yet to try one from any of the fast food places. Pass by a Popeyes regularly and keep thinking I will see what all the hubbub was about, but I hate subjecting myself to dealing with them.

I’ve had the CFA one once. It was okay. I didn’t realize the non-deluxe one comes with no condiments. It was so dry.
I have a feeling I’d like the Popeyes one though.

Honestly, I’ve had a few and I’ve always been very impressed by the size of the chicken on the bun.
If you get anything close to a tender you got screwed.
CFA is a great place if you like sauces, but comparing their chicken to Popeyes it’s not close.

As noted earlier in the thread, Wendy's does have issues with consistency, especially with a sandwich like this one where there are so many components. That said, when this sandwich is built right, it blows the doors off everything else.....spicy filet, bacon, cheese, cheese sauce, jalapenos, and fried onion crisps. So damn good.
Popeye's spicy is phenomenal but you have to order extra sauce, imo. That sandwich would be perfect if they breaded the filet with their spicy breading.

Sorry to hear you have a shitty Popeye's by you. The one by me in Mandeville is great. No attitude, and I have NEVER had to wait or pull up. Can't say the same about the one by my old house in Metairie.

Sorry you got a bad one.. I had it about 5 times in the past year and was delicious every time. I can see where soggy buns would totally frick it up..

I enjoyed it but there was so much sauce on it I had to blot most of it off to even taste the chicken
