#7 Chic Fil A vs. #11 Whataburger. Winner to take on #5 Popeye's in the Championship.

Voting ends tomorrow at midnight.

Chic Fil A is unquestionably the best fast food restaurant that is open only 6 days a week. Started in 1946 rural Georgia by Mr. Truett Cathy, Chic Fil A has grown at a steady rate, but remains a North American hit only. Built extensively inside the crowded confines of the urban shopping malls throughout the 1980's, Chic Fil A franchises can now be found as independent restaurants and even college campus quickstops all over the United States.

The go to items are unquestionably the chicken nuggets, grilled chicken sandwich, and of course, the boneless fried chicken sandwich (which Mr. Cathy is often credited with inventing). A nice variety of salads and other crispily battered items round out a "chicken only" menu - which now includes some breakfast items like the Chicken in a Biscuit. Perhaps what makes Chic Fil A an easy choice for the finals of this tourney is the undeniably clean locations of its established franchises and the far above average customer service. Chic Fil A prides itself on being a Christian-faithed operating chain of nearly 1,900 franchises. "Eat Mor Chikin."

Way back in 1950, an adventurous and determined entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson opened up the world’s first Whataburger on Ayers Street in Corpus Christi, Texas. He had a simple goal, to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold and so good that with one bite customers would say, “What a burger!” He succeeded on both accounts and turned that one little burger stand into a legend known throughout Texas
and the South.

Today, each and every Whataburger is made to order, right when it’s ordered. And they’re still made with 100% pure American beef and served on a big toasted five-inch bun with all ‘the extras’ to suit your taste. Grilled jalapenos, extra bacon, three slices of cheese, no tomatoes, extra pickles, etc. With more than 700 Whataburger restaurants across ten states, road-trippers and hometown folks alike continue gathering under the big orange and white roofs for the fresh made to order burgers and friendly service. Whataburger is also a 24/7 franchise.

Although they are both early comers to their field. Other burger places have stepped up and met or improved on Whataburger...

No chicken sandwich really compares to the Chic...

even Popeye's sammich is good, but can't cure the craving for a Chic fil A sandwich....

Whataburger.

I love Chick fil a, but my Texas bias pulls through for Whataburger.

Chick fil a,

it's about a tie, but two things swayed me:

1: Chgick fil-a sponsered our bowl win (although i still call it the peach)

Outstanding service and I am a big fan of the nuggets.

Whataburger is LSU of 2006...got to the final 4 on sloppy, greasy hard work, but Chic Fil A (UCLA '06) is too finesse and polished for it. Step aside, minor league burger joint.

Is Chick Fil A, a mall only store? Because I hate that. In New Orleans, they are only located in Malls. Of course we don't have a Whataburger either.

I vote Whataburger to try and block Chick Fil A from a showdown with Popeyes.

Whataburger.

Chic Fil A isn't even open on Sundays, much less 4 a.m. on Sunday morning when I need a chicken finger combo, white gravy, texas toast and a Whataburger Jr. with cheese.

Whataburger.. If I have to eat a fast food burger its gonna be theirs.(since we don't have In/Out or Fatburger available here) and I personally think they have the best fries going.

Love CF...but their prices are bit on the high side for "fast food"..for the $7 bucks I spend at Whataburger to get full I'd have to spend $10 at CF.

It was. Now, it appears to be a major player in the Best Buy, Target, Shoe Rack empire.

You're going to fail, IMO. I didn't see an all-chicken finals coming when I conceived the tourney idea, but it's going to occur. Of course, I also didn't see an early exit for Cane's, either and figured they were a heavy favorite.
