The food is the best reason to go to FIL. Show up hungry. Get small tastings and share them.

Crawfish boat is a must.

Youll need to get a wrist band and load it up. You can buy all your food, drinks, and festival merch with it. You use it until Festival is over and your account is refunded the remaining balance.

Downtown Lafayette, April 24th-28th. It's free and a damn good time, definitely worth checking out.

Just a heads up, they changed that a couple years ago. You no longer have to add a balance unless you're wanting to use cash. Otherwise you just link your debit/credit card directly to the wristband and it charges your card as you go. If you use cash you can add a balance to it, and when it's over request a refund of the balance, but there's a $5 processing fee.

Oh good to know. My wife handles all of that. We get our wristbands early before festival, so mine is ready to go

Oh, nice! We usually have to make friends pick ours up early and then add money at the festival, but I just went to their website and signed us up with the CC attached. That's much smoother.

Poupart's is the place to go to first. Usually by main stage. Crawfish pistollette is amazing.

Even before 10pm, they do have some really strange and weird hippy types.

A really good music and food festival. Not a redneck festival. But also authentic. Just remember that it’s an international festival not a Cajun or seafood or whatever festival. You not gonna get funnel cakes or boudin balls but food is great and music is good. The Breaux Bridge Crawfish Festival is better for local music and food.
