FBD is a local IPA. the beer scene is pretty bland here but the coffeeshops are smokin'

on the lookout for some good brews for 2bd

I know exactly where you are. That area was awesome. I cannot recommend enough to stop and get Wok To Walk at some point. I still have dreams about that stuff

ETA: A area I really enjoyed just hanging out and drinking/people watching was a square around Cafe De Waard. Bunch of cafe's and bars around there with a ton of seating outside.

You know what you're obligated to now, right?

I'm not sure where that exact spot is but I feel like what you just described is the entire city within the "circle." Beautiful city.

You're talking to the O'est of G's.

Get over to Proeflokaal Arendsnest for quality brews. Eat next door.

And clean your shirt.

Brouwerij 't IJ is a good brewery.

You can take an uber to the brewery and drink there if you're interested, it's right next to a big windmill. We had a good time there, and it's a good place to hang out with locals.

I'll be there in two weeks. Looking forward to following this thread.

I plan to check out Brouwerij 't IJ. It's a brewery set up next to a windmill just outside of Ansterdam's center.

ETA: I obviously didn't read the above post before posting. Glad a fellow FBD'r agrees with the recommendation!

very true. It is over in the theater district, where Liedsestraat becomes Liedseplein. On the outskirts of the "circle". Not far from the Holland Casino.

I was there back in May. You will really enjoy yourself. I'd recommend going the Blue Amsterdam cafe for brunch or lunch one day. It is a cool 360 view cafe at the top of the building that you get some good views of the city. Food was good as well.

Another good breakfast spot I went to was De Vier Pilaren. They had fantastic crepes and it is right on one of the canals with a bunch of patio seating. Great morning view.

Greetings from NYC. Working out of my friend's apartment after a couple meetings in the morning. Not a bad view.

FBD is a Montauk Summer Ale. Never heard of it, but not bad.
