Lately, I've been drinking more and more Mexican beers. They are light, refreshing, and taste better than your standard Bud, Miller, Coors product.

What are your favorites?

Alternatively, what are some beers you'd recommend that are similar to the Mexican style beers - Dos Equis, Pacifico, Tecate, Corona, etc.

I love an ice cold Pacifico, Modelo (especially in a can), and Dos Equis.

Rum House on Magazine Street had Pacifico on tap when I lived there, which was why I was a frequent customer.

I’ve been drinking Negro Modelo. Really like the taste, and not very heavy for a dark beer.

Modelo is by far my favorite. Both the Negra and Especial.

After that I don't really have a preference, but I prefer all of them to lite domestics.

Pacifico, Tecate & Modelo are my go to cervezas.

I remember being in Mexico years ago and drinking a bunch of Sol, but don't think I've had it since.

Mexican beers on a hot summer day is one of life's simple pleasures.

It's hard to beat a cold Dos Equis (lager). Tecate is kind of a "cheap" Mexican beer, but I find it pretty refreshing. One or two Modelos are good. But after that it is a matter of diminishing returns.

The only one I really don't like is Corona. Way too much lime taste for my liking. If I wanted lime I would just drink a margarita.

"Mexican beers" are typically vienna style lagers. Personally, i'm a fan of Negra Modelo when i go to a mexican restaurant. However, Negra Modela is more of a munich dunkel than a vienna lager.

ETA: I was in Punta Cana last month and drank my fair share of "Dominican water". It's pretty good, but I like a lot of the Mexican beers more.

Sol is what I think is the best. Tecate for budget breakfast beers.

Got me there, I admit I didn't read the OP in its entirety.
