Usually buy Carolina Plantation or Palmetto Farms. Any other great brands out there?

Our Kroger just has 5 minute grits. After watching the Alton Brown episode on polenta vs grits, I decided to buy some Red Mill corn meal. I'll probably never buy actual grits again.

I can't remember the brand, but I bought some good yellow ones a couple of weekends ago at the farmer's market in downtown Baton Rouge. The lady who sold them to me was slightly crazy -- she told me to refrigerate the grits because the oils will attract bugs.

Never had any better. Cooked a batch for breakfast yesterday - added jalapenos and shredded pepper-jack cheese. It takes about 45 minutes to cook, but worth the wait.

Have been wanting to try Anson Mills. Kind of pricey but I need to just do it.

Sciple’s mill, DeKalb, Mississippi. Haven’t been there but it’s on the list. I believe it’s a Meridiandog find.

Gotta go local with Delta Grind. (Water Valley, MS)

ETA: Made shkrimp and grits last night (I add spicy deer sausage and bacon to mine, and add smoked gouda to the grits) and it was fricking delicious.
