I had a Mitchell that came with some free cardboard and eggshell stuck to it. I don’t know what you’d call that.

Alligator Bar on Bayou Manchac. We used to go out there on Sunday nights for the free red beans and rice.

Lately, I've been eating more at Serop's Express or Rende's when I'm in Ascension Parish.

Albasha's is awesome for a sit down meal, though.

I went there a few times with my college roommate, and we would be the only white boys there. We would get beer, but most everyone else had a bottle of Seagram's Gin on the table.

I always felt safe inside, but going to the car would perk you up.

I went there to see his son Chris long ago and I bumped into Chris a couple of years ago when he was here in town and played at the Stone Pony. I had on my LSU sweat shirt and sent him a drink and he came over to talk. Told him I saw him at his dad's club and he ended up shooting the shite with me for an hour.

As others have said, Pedro's, I also remember watching Purple Rain at Lyman Whites.

Worked at Godfather's.
Sister worked at Pastime.
Loved Blimpie.
Worked at Louie's.
Frenchie passed me "mistake" orders cause I was poor.

Unfortunately, sugar butter bread, my own creation, was my primary food of choice in college. Oh, and employee meals at Godfather's.

Oh, and the Cajun Blaze still rules.

Mickey's Gold Nugget on Nicholson but only when someone grown up was taking me out for dinner. I was poor and couldn't afford a steak in college.
