The Arzis on Nicholson.....the waiter, manager, and cooks were related, and I apparently looked just like their cousin back home. They literally would come out of the kitchen to see me. LOL, extra shwarma on my salad! I hadn’t thought about that in years.

The Spaghetti Store. My friends and I used to eat there every Sunday after going to church at the Chapel on the Campus. (The cafeterias were closed on Sat/Sun back then, so we were usually starving!)

Spaghetti Store gave you a free LSU glass if you bought a soft drink, so I brought a ton of them home every summer. When my brother was being recruited, Daddy would bring iced tea out in those glasses and say, "My daughter goes to LSU." Lol - he was the BEST, God rest his soul!

Despite being recruited by Alabama, Tulane* (big rival back in the day) and numerous other schools, my brother signed & played for Cholly Mac at LSU.

*My uncle never forgave him

The Den. Massive plate of food. Every meal came with rice and gravy in addition to the sides you could choose.

At the risk of dating myself, (I am 75) anybody remember the Cherokee Inn out on Plank Road. Friday night special of fried shrimp and onion rings (all you can eat) was about 5 bucks I think. And of course The Pasttime, with Joe Lippen as the bartender . Is it still around. I know Joe died many years ago.

The original Rotolos in tigerland. Not the one that went in at the old Pizza Hut but the one next to Dublin’s/JLs.

My time at LSU was from 1976 to 1984 (2 degrees).

Pedro's for sure

Round the Corner - loved their Pizza Burger - you ordered from your table on the phone

Blimpie's - got me a Blimpie Best that would get me through Saturday night every weekend.

The Library - sold muffulettas and a roast beef muffuletta that was money.

I can't remember the name of the pizza place near the Varsity, but they were great. (ETA: it was Bono's)

Pete and Tilley's pizza place next to the drugstore in the shopping center on State St. They had a double stack pizza that was 1 pizza stacked on top of another. 3 of us guys left 2 pieces on the table.

Poncho's down on Nicholson - Mexican buffett

Der Wienerschnitzel for hot dogs.

Godfathers was great for pizza

Mr Gatti's - pretty good pizza, although one time my buddy ate a large part of a pizza that had aluminum foil stuck to the bottom. They gave hime a coupon for a new pizza.

ETA: The Caterie had the best fried mushrooms ever. tasted like they were coated in Popeye's batter.

Next to the tracks on Nicholson).

Alligator Hilton (Sunday night dinner)

Uncle Earls (the original)

The Chimes ( before it expanded. Back when they’d put your name on the wall for “around the world”)
