Wait, this is the same chain with the giant slices that opened in Metairie? I heard very mixed reviews about it, mostly negative. I love pizza though, so I'm willing to give it a shot.

Your opinion is incorrect. While Fat Boys is good, Neely’s and Meribo are indeed better for Mandeville/Covington area joints. Branching out past the Northshore, Diversion Pizza kicks Fat Boys in the vagina.
That isn’t my opinion, it is a statement of fact.

When they were building the one on Metairie Rd, all I got from it was a gimmick. I've heard people say how good it is, but really those people are ones that I know love gimmicks. I haven't tried it yet, because I don't trust their voices. Seeing all the DVs you received seems to confirm my suspicions.
With that said, I don't believe I have seen a restaurant explode as fast as this one. They have multiple locations after only 2-3 years? That's crazy. It usually takes that long just to get out of the red. Props to them for turning a gimmick into a mega success.

Checked out the Fat Boys Pizza on Metairie Road not too long after they opened in 2019.
It sucked. Huge, floppy greasy pizza, bland, with no taste.
Never went back.
It's a locally owned, by the Corchiani family, some of y'all might remember Gabe Corchiani who played b-ball at UNO back in the day.

I’m sure it’s doing fine, pizza has great margins and the one on Met Rd seems to be busy. But it’s a deep pocketed organization backed by John Georges. They could open 100 of them if they wanted and not blink

I am anxious to try the Lit Pizza coming soon at 1077/ 1085. I have heard good things about their pies.
Sara is a bartender at the Fat Boys on 21. She is interesting in many respects. The all-meat pie at Fat Boys is pretty good, but their wings are pretty damn delicious.

Got another one coming to Lakeview

agree. to me pizza is 99% about the crust and the crust was horrible- reminded me of cheap arse elementary school crust. Extremely dense with no air bubbles or gluten formation. was really gross.

Not very good in my opinion, thin crust and barely had any toppings. I’d take Costco pizza over it for a fraction of the cost.

ate it for free during covid (they were generous enough to donate to the hospital)
That being said, I've eaten there to support them for their generosity and I wouldn't eat it again unless it was free.

I've enjoyed my few experiences I've had at Fat Boys, but it isn't the best pizza.

Yes. Pizza is ok. Wings are badass

I had it for the first time a few weeks ago. It was fine, slightly annoying more than anything with the size.
However, their buffalo wings were FIRE.

I've had the one in Metairie a couple times at random events. It's average at best. Wouldn't turn it down but wouldn't go out of my way. I can name 5 to 10 better pizza places in NOLA metro off the top of my head.

I've been hearing great things about NOLA Pizza Co. and how great their crust is. It's next on my hit list.
