Congrats to all! It is inspiring & I enjoy these cook off challenges.

Maybe when the ingredients the winner chooses gets seemingly fully done... We can do more general-- pot roast, Chili, Gumbo, Italian dish, Seafood challenges?

Anxious to see the new ingredient Got Blaze chooses.

Thx for all you do Darla and congrats to all who entered. Everyone is a winner in my book regardless if your dish received 1 vote or 30 votes. These meals takes hours to prepare and the creativity is off the charts. Never had beef wellington, bolognese, or the lemon grass soup, but I will definitely make it in the future.

I'll ponder the next main ingredient and post my selection Friday 5/28 before noon

Not sure how long you've been following, but we've ventured away from just doing ingredients several times

We've done soup, sandwich, and noodles of any kind. We also have endless ingredients we haven't touched, so we should be set for a while.

I think the problem with doing something as narrow as "gumbo" or "chili" would be that everyone is making the same dish and we aren't actually together in person to taste. Yeah, you can use different meats/ingredients in your gumbo.. but at that point everyone is making the same meal and its basically who spent the most on unique ingredients. It takes the creativity of coming up with a unique dish away.

Doing like we've done with a single ingredient or a broad category allows for creativity and making up your own dish, which makes the voting easier on everyone as well.

EDIT - I go to the BR gumbo cookoff every year. You wouldn't have any clue which ones are good and which ones are burnt/disgusting without tasting, ya know? Whereas with each of us cooking an entirely different dish, we can judge based on how we think the ingredients probably work together and if it appeals to our tastes.

My apologies. I was distracted with my thoughts and maybe didn't have enough coffee in me yet I was mistaken. You are correct in all of this. I agree.

I am new to all this. Will today be the ingredient pick day by Got Blaze? What if Blaze went on a European vacation?
