Do you know how I can tell that you’re not a gin drinker?

It's just the cool thing to get right now. I have a feeling it'll slow down shortly.

Hasn’t this been happening for a good ten years now?

Where can one sell bottles in the BR area? I have a few I may unload if the price is right.

On behalf of us alcoholics - STFU and drink your shite. YOU are the problem. Go get a job if you need more money. Quit trying to turn buying booze into a side hustle.

Yeah so, I mean I'm still upset about paying $400 for etl. But the bottle is hard to find.

I have done enough blind tastes in the last few years to learn that there is so much readily available bourbon I love to pretty much give up the hunt. Now, if I happen to stumble on something like I did last week, sure, I'll buy.

You think that's bad, I've just been trying to get a bottle of Stagg Jr for like the last three or four years. I just like the proof

You can get the 1.75 L bottle JB for $25-27 and save a little more.

Several years ago, a restaurant friend of mine asked me if I wanted a bottle of Stagg. Thinking it was the BTAC version, I said hell yes. Then he handed me a bottle of Stagg Jr (which I guess was pretty new). I took it disappointingly, but still knew I had something a bit rare. Then, Over the next year or so, I saw it everywhere. Nobody thought much of it. Always on the shelf. Then about two years after I got my bottle, that shite just disappeared. Right around the time Buffalo Trace, Hancock, and Eagle Rare 10 became impossible to find.

Still have the Stagg Jr.

For bourbon drinkers, mezcal is a better drinking agave spirit and Sotol is a good choice too. The good mezcals have more complexity than good bourbon IMO. With that said, there are plenty of good bourbons in the $60-80 range that are still easy to find.

So you've been sitting on a bottle of Stagg Jr for 10 years?

Just because it's hard to find doesn't mean it's worth $400

ETA: but in the end "high end" liquor is not a very logical thing, it's just like any other luxury item, worth what someone is willing to pay for it.
