The secondary bourbon market is an example of why we cannot have nice things.

$400 for Elmer t Lee. And $130 for small batch EH Taylor. $349 and up for Weller 12 year.

Geezus.

Uhh... That's just capitalism in action... The market supports a higher price, so it's sold at a higher price.

Those prices are a little inflated on secondary. In BR ETL is going for 220. EH - 100 and W12 for like 250.

Where can one sell bottles in the BR area? I have a few I may unload if the price is right.

The masses need to focus on Blantens and BT bourbon, leave the rest for us poors.

None of those are considered standard secondary prices FYI.

ETL is sub 300, EHTSmB is around 100-110, and W12 is 250 or less. It's ridiculous enough to not need to sensationalize

Nah. It's flextards trying to be part of the new cool thing so they can post their selfies on instagram and reddit so that the cool crowd will give them the attention they can't live without. The trend seems to be finally fading, so these flexers will move on to tequila next (the next trend on deck).

While yes this is sort of capitalism at work, this is the secondary market we are talking about. It's basically the black market of whiskey. Retailers for the most part still sell all of these bottles at retail prices, but there are definitely many out there who gouge to take advantage of the craze. Those sit on the shelves for a long time usually

This, all of this. It's just the cool thing to get right now. I have a feeling it'll slow down shortly.

Already happening. And I like tequila for my summer drinking habits, but I stick to the cheaper mixer bottles and not the high end sippers.
