LA1 burger- probably my favorite, Nice crust on the burger but still juicy. like that I can get a medium burger. Onion strings mushrooms and Gouda are an excellent combo

Went last Saturday and had this burger, was very impressed. Plus their fries were really good... I know it's just fries but they were some of the best in town. I'll definitely go back.

Finally was able to check this place out. Had the pimento cheeseburger, and I added strawberry pepper jelly and caramelized onions. They were kinda skimpy on the onions but I really enjoyed the burger. It didn’t include fries or any other side so that was somewhat of a bummer since it was over $12. The lady had the crawfish bisque with crawfish fritters, but they forgot the fritters so the waitress had to go back and get them. This bisque was different from other crawfish bisques I’ve had; it was more of a sauce piquant/turtle soup flavor with sherry evident. She didn’t really care for it so I ate most of it. The fritters were pretty bland and tasteless and didn’t add much. I love me some pie so for dessert I tried the cherry hand pie - it was great but would’ve been even better with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. I thought overall it was pretty good, but the prices seemed a little much, especially $17.95 for the bisque which to me wasn’t worth nearly that — reminded me of Pat’s Fisherman Wharf prices.

It is awesome as others have said. Personally I think it is probably the most innovative and well done places in BR in a very long time. I'm going back for sure.

I went last Sunday and enjoyed it. I had the fried chicken and red beans. The red beans were full of flavor. The fried chicken was a boneless fried breast that tasted all right. The portion size was enough for left overs.

My wife got the meat pies. She asked for sauce on the side and they forgot. She did not care for the sauce very much but because the food took so long she just dealt with it. The meat pies tasted good to me. she thought they were average. The kids had popcorn shrimp and fries and I was surprised at how good it tasted. I ve noticed a trend towards larger potion sizes for kids and Elsie's certainly doesnt skimp.

The meal with tip was around 50.00 for a family of four so not bad. I was not blown away but I will definitely be back.

Elsie's posted a picture of a seafood pie. Anyone ever had it? It looks delicious.

It a cool/different place. Have been twice and like it.

Chicken pot pie is my favorite item. I liked the boudin app as well and like the tartar sauce it is served on top of.

Red beans are good and they have a decent beer selection.

I think that’s on their restaurant week menu, rather than their regular menu. They’re one of the only restaurants in town that created new items for restaurant week. Kudos to them.

I asked last night why it wasn't on the regular menu. It's a special that they run occasionally.

Going to try to go tonight for Restaurant Week, menu looks delicious. Though I expect it to be slammed. Friday after everyone's been holed up all week, Restaurant Week, and just featured in the Advocate.

Plan to hit Elsie’s for lunch tomorrow but I think they’re only doing the restaurant week stuff for dinner

Did the restaurant week thing for a late lunch. Had pimento cheese fries, seafood pie and cookies and cream pie. I'll say the pimento cheese wasn't anything spectacular. I consider myself somewhat of pimento cheese snob. It had the texture of thick cheez wiz which I just didn't like. Whole Foods smoked Gouda pimento cheese is the standard bearer. Seafood pie was magnificent as was the cookies and cream pie.

Had the boudin pie app and it was solid. I would choose the seafood pie or grits and grillades over the burger which was good but not great.

I had a bite of the boudin burger last time I went. I'm not a fan of sweet stuff on burgers so I passed on the pork belly blackberry burger or whatever it was

Went with the lady and a friend a few days ago and ordered everything on the restaurant week menu (and two of the cookies and cream pie).

The boudin hand pie and the spinach and artichoke dip were very good. The pimento cheese fries were mediocre at best.

The seafood pot pot was excellent, the grits and grillades were very good, and the burger was good.

The Meyer lemon hand pie was very good and the cookies and cream pies were excellent.

Other than the one time I had an undercooked chicken pot pie for lunch, I've never had a bad meal there. I hope people keep supporting them.
