Underwhelming for such a popular restaurant. Bland atmosphere. Oysters (both raw and charbroiled) were good, boudin balls were flavorful, service was spot on. Just not thrilled

Honestly, why the downvotes? No specific reason you object to my opinion?

It’s terrible. The oysters are pretty much the only redeeming thing there. I have a customer who loves going to this place. I hate taking him to lunch/dinner.

The oysters are great. Pretty much everything else is like overpriced tourist food.

They are a great family that does a ton for the community, so I still go eat there a few times a year.

Sounds like a typical Drago's experience for the last 2 decades at least.

I only go to the Metairie location, but it's been years since I have been there. When all the suppliers had to deliver in the front door, you could watch Tommy inspect every fish.

I hope it's still great.

Moved away a long time ago. A business conference had me back near that location. Took coworkers there and couldn’t believe how awful it was. I understand the scene, the pool of workers, etc. Mind you this was 5 yrs before the vid. Absolute crap. Never went to the store ne in titty city.

The only I’ll order are the charbroiled oysters, stuffed lobster, and stuffed softshell crab in season. I respect a restaurant that doesn’t serve softshell year round as those have likely been swimming around on chinese poo water.

I like their chargrilled oysters. It’s not good for anything else imo

I’ve got some ceramic oyster shells that we use to chargrill our own. They’re fantastic. We buy them from Whole Foods in the tub

Did these yesterday on the grill and they turned out great

I used the recipe below that came with the oyster shells which is a little different from the one I posted above but very close

I got the oysters from Whole Foods in a tub and they were very fresh. I placed 2 oysters in most of the shells

the ones we've got are loftin ceramic shells

LINK

i usually go heavy with the toppings so i end up with quite the flare-ups on the grill from the butter sizzling over

Oysters are great.

Everything else sucks balls.

I always put the softened butter mixture in first and then oysters on top. Keeps the overflow to a minimum

the Loftin shells are the only way to go. We did break one but it was my fault (whiskey related)

Dragos Metry has a very good breakfast. I love their oyster omelet and their homemade biscuits are freshly made and delicious. The best I've had. The coffee is good.
