Any recommendations for a bbq place for a group to walk too in downtown Austin?

I was looking at either Lambert's or Coopers. Maybe Iron Works?

Just walk or take a scooter to Terry Black’s.

Terry Blacks is close enough to walk? We will be at the Hilton. If it was just me I’d grab a scooter but there will be 5-6 and sine might not be comfortable on a scooter.

Its a mile and a half, but why not Uber? I don't know about the places you mentioned, but personally I see no reason to go subpar when you can have the best.

Mickelthwaite is not far from the hilton and is very good.

Don't bother with IronWorks. Lambert's isn't really bbq, but it's very good.

It was so tender you couldn't pick up a slice. Just fell apart.

I think it's just you ;)

Brisket isn’t supposed to fall apart when you pick it up

I can only speak for Cooper's but it was damn good when I went a few years back.

I stayed at the Hilton, walked to Cooper's and then watched the bats fly out nearby at dusk.

I like it that way

Terry Black's is regarded as some of the best BBQ out there, so I don't really know what to say.

Pledge, look, you don’t have to go there if you don’t want to.

How's the restaurant scene there with covid closures? I have a trip scheduled for October in Austin.

Terry Black's is great.
LA BBQ is great.
Mick's was a let down.

And if someone doesn't want brisket from Terry Black's I'll take it. Looks just fine in the photo.

Most restaurants are wide open.

Why is nobody saying franklins? All ive heard over the years is he is the best at brisket. Also heard you have to wait in line for hours, maybe that is a good reason.

You answered your own question. If you want any you have to get in line at like 5-6 a.m.
