There is local soul food place near me in Huntsville Al that has been very popular in the past. Had to run into town today so decided to stop by for lunch. There was a sign on the door that said “attention all daily specials will now be $19.95. The daily special is a pick of different meats and two vegetables and a desert. So it has already gone from a meat and three to a meat and two. This is a place where you order at the counter and the food is put in a styrofoam container. The food is good but it is a basic plate lunch place with no waiters and it cost me $22 before tip. That’s pretty tough. Is this common everywhere now?

For a non-seafood or barbecue plate that is excessive. If they add a fee for cards that even more egregious.

It's time to move on.

You can cook those meals for a fraction. Veggies, potatoes, and gravy aren't a secret.

That price would keep me from coming back unless the food is extremely good.

In the last year, I’ve eaten at both Arnold’s in Nashville and Niki’s West in Birmingham and neither was that expensive. These are consistently ranked as two of the best and most popular meat and three restaurants in the country.
