I love fried calamari, but that is squid. Octopus is not. They are pretty intelligent creatures. Some theorize they were placed in our oceans by space travelers, like from Neptune or some ocean moon or planet. I don’t know about that, but do know I’m kind of squeamish about putting them on the menu.

Octopus is delicious. I order it at restaurants almost any chance I get.

Lots of Mexican places have octopus on the menu. It's ok but not my favorite.

Yes, when it is served in a good restaurant fried crispy or sauteed in a delicious sauce.

Octopus

One of my favorite foods when prepared correctly.

Braised until tender then char grilled to crisp the skin.

Very tasty due to their diet of shellfish.

AVO in NOLA grills it and bastes it in a sweet chili sauce. Amazing

Are you a chef?

I love octopus. That being said if it isn't a Japanese, Island, or Mediterranean (Spain/Greek) restaurant then I'm not ordering it.

I enjoy them every chance I can get them at a legit restaurant.

Made a thread years ago after I made some. The replies were across the board

Interesting, because the Japanese word for octopus is tako.

i do eat octupus and thoroughly enjoy it. a properly grilled octupus with some citrus and good olive oil is just plain simple good eating.

i do have some quandary about eating them. they are indeed very intelligent creatures. There is no doubt about that. Probably more intelligent than the dogs we love so much. At the same time, most octupi only live for a year or so. It's not like you are cutting their life extremely short. i do hope they are harvested and dispatched humanely though.

I never had it but Tony Montana said that in Cuba he had to eat octopus three times a day and that he had octopus coming out of his ears mane.
