If you are this cheap and petty, then don't tip... The person accepting the tip doesn't cook your food. Just be cheap and leave a 0.

If you downvote, you are cheap

Example of being good to people under these circumstances. I went to new York pizza on main street tonight in Seal beach. They let me park in the alley and enter and exit through the kitchen for a few slices. It's virtually impossible to park on main street but I tip.

Do you tip the cashier at McDonald's? They fill and refill your drink and serve your food. (I'm not judging by the way, just food for thought)

They’re not going to purchase a special point of sale system strictly to togo orders. Just don’t tip if you don’t want to.

Only like 40-50% of people tip on them anyway - the person helping you won’t care.

I’ve never been upset over this and generally leave a tip of some sort depending on the situation as you describe it, but I’ve tipped in the Popeye’s drive up too when I get a particularly pleasant person. It’s fun to give something unexpected. Makes everyone involved feel good.

They had to cook it to sell it. They had to box it to serve it. They had to bring it to you or you wouldn't pay for it. These basic functions of a restaurant don't warrant a tip.

Did the restaurant do you a favor by selling food to you or did you do the restaurant a favor by choosing it buy food from? There are a lot of restaurants out there. Should a restaurant tip you for choosing it over the others?

10% if no table side service. I don't know if that's standard etiquette. That's just what I do. Table service is 15%-20% based on quality.

I usually throw in a $1-2 tip. It's a service but not the same as someone waiting on me for an hour
