They do that at McDonald's. Do you tip at McDonald's?

“The restaurant” =\= the person serving you. Idk why people lump those together. The only person profiting from a to-go order is the business owner and it is such a small profit that some places are smart enough to not even bother with to-go.

90% of the time it is a server or bartender doing it and not being paid minimum wage. I realize that isn’t my responsibility or business, but I tip because I know that’s what is going on.

whereas McDonald's employees are, so it's essentially not the same.
If the service is good, the food is hot and you're pleased with the service, tip if you're inclined.

If it's that big of an issue for you, just go to McDonald's where a tip isn't expected.

Gotta love the tip threads. They are all the same and full of douchebaggery on both sides of the issues.

True.

Some create more than others though.

Depends on the situation

I usually do $1 for to-go. Depends on the place though.

I hate the mentality of hey that person has more money than I do so they should spend more and spend it how i see fit even though its not my money

Especially when it's for the same product.

I tip on to go orders at a full service restaurant but I'm not sure I need to leave a tip at a place like izzos. If it's counter service it's fast food.

You seem like the type who eats and McDonalds often and then throws your trash in the Walmart parking lot.

I only tip if the wages of the people working at the place I order from are based on tips. They spent time packaging everything up. I usually give 10-15%. I used to not do this until some good points were made in previous threads about this.

I never tip at places where I assume the wages aren't based on tips, like food trucks or self-service type places where you order your food and all they do is bring it out to your table or you go and get it when its ready.
