Maybe but being on Magazine and Harrison in NOLA is just a tad different than being in Towne Center.
Any idea why that Starbucks didn't make it at that location?

I think it is 50/50 on whether it makes it or not. I absolutely think the Elmwood location in Harahan will fail. DD actually needs to be in a high rent area to do well IMHO. Which is why I think Towne Center is actually the right place to try in BR

So what? When you walk in, especially when you walk in to the Lakeview location (which is better than the original imo), you see a huge board with like 25 things on the menu, and none of them are donuts. You don't even see the donuts until you get to the register.
You look around see maybe 2-3 people with donuts and then the rest of the place jam-packed with people eating everything else.
And the donuts sell out pretty much daily so many people like them obviously.
Ya'll are acting like BR is some snooty place with nothing but high end places instead of Chainville USA. DDSB will absolutely kill it there in a place starved for non-Chili's options.
Bet accepted. If they open and don't last a year I'll ban myself from this board for a year.

they opened a new one right down the road. Honestly, they could have kept both the way they do business in Town Center.

DD will be in a pretty good spot between places that have longer hours. That's where they shine imo. Perfect place for a 9-10pm pre/post drink snack.

Their target market is a perfectly situated for the type of people who shop at Whole Foods (which is the anchor store there). They know how use social media for marketing/advertising, and it do pretty well.

He's acting like it will be impossible for District to make new customers in BR.
I have never been to District, but Nola and BR are not far apart and word travels. People from Br go to district when they are in town to see what its all about. I think they will do just fine in BR, in fact that probably isnt a better location.

District also as mentioned do well on Social Media, and they have a food truck that they will start putting all over town to get the word out.

I want to say that it boiled down to Starbucks wanting to have a store with a drive through and the location they had in Towne Center wasn't set up for that. They ended up moving to a new building that was a stone's throw away and attached to a Newk's. They were paying two leases on Towne Center properties for more than a year.
