Fair enough but I disagree with opinion that district donuts is competing with places like Mary Lee's
It's closer to having the same customer base Margie and tiger donuts. White people in their mid-20s and up.

No, but in an area full of bored stay at home housewives with kids and plenty of disposable income, it's not a given that they will fail.
That's not really the demographic they aim at though. They're aimed more at the young professionals/hipsters and young couple crowds.

Established BR customer base, not a level comparison. District doesn't have that, nor do they have a reputation for putting out an outstanding product.

It's a solid location for that demo as well.

It all depends. I just don't know if they'll be able to survive on their donuts alone. I don't know that BR will support them for their sliders and breakfast sandwiches. That's most of their NOLA business.

I think is false. Outside of the naysayers on this board, they are wildly loved.
I think they are nothing short of wonderful in everything I've had there except for the donuts which are not my thing anyway.

We'll see. It'll be interesting to follow for sure.

I don't agree with you. I have lost of friends and family that have never heard of this website that share that opinion.

This is the first time I have heard people say it sucks. I never got the donuts but the sandwich and biscuits I have gotten have been good. Also, the coffee is very good. Breakfast taco was good too but that's hard to frick up.
I shouldn't be surprised, New Orleans people love shite on anything popular.

So the thing they are named for
They aren't named for that.
Their name is Distric Donuts Sliders Brew. They aren't a "donut shop" as some try to label them and don't claim to be. Its just one of the things they sell.
Their sliders and everything else on the menu are delicious as frick. I think their donuts are cool and I know people that love them, but I do agree with many that they are a bit to cakey for me.

It is a donut shop with terrible donuts. They should shite on it.

I don't shite on it because it's popular. I just don't like their donuts. Their other stuff is pretty good. However, every time my sis-in-law goes I get a pic texted to me of every fricking donut in the place. I guess that's where my hostility come from.

Yeah, calling it a donut shop at this point is silly. That is what they started out as though.

Yep. It's the first thing in their name and the first thing you see when you walk in. They put the donuts front and center, and they just aren't great.

Is this where we make a bet? Because it hasn't worked out too well for the novelty cupcake places.
