Friend taking wife to dinner in NOLA for anniversary. Revolutions screwed up reservations and won't seat them tonight.

Need a good suggestion. I suggested August or Stella. Anything else? (I let him figure out how to get a last minute reservation).

Emeril's Delmonico

Criollo

Maybe Glass can get him into Clancy's.

To answer your query, though. August or Stella would be good, but you may have a hard time getting into either.

Try Lilette or Herbsaint, or tell him to just go to Galatories and try to snag a downstairs table.

Coquette, La Petit Grocery, Lilette, are all uptown. Not sure if the party is staying in the quarter.

check opentable.com and see what high rated places will seat them.

August has no openings after 6. Stella has a 6:30 and a couple of 8's. SoBou only has a 4:30

But what is cool about open table is you can see what places have tables then reserve one.

2nd the open table recommendation. Check it out and see whats available.

Coquette (ask for upstairs), Le Petite Grocery, Le Foret, Le Meritage are all excellent suggestions.

In FQ, try NOLA or Bayonnas.
Uptown, Upperline is nice, in addition to the other places mentioned.

Eating there next week for the first time in several years. What did have that was boring? I thought the menu looked much more interesting than it was when I looked at it several years ago. We had a great Easter lunch there, but I haven't eaten there for dinner, yet.

Consider NOLA in the Quarter. You'll be able to get in there, likely. Very good food and service that is slightly under the radar. Be careful...the steel manufacturers are in town for a convention. Rough crowd...

had dinner there a few years ago, service was awful, messed up orders etc. food was solid.

went there for mother's day brunch two years ago. single blanton's on the rocks was $18, GTFO. the meal was over priced. I had a $23 crawfish omlette, which was nearly inedible. service once again sucked.

went about a year ago for a work party. food was average service sucked yet again.

went to a chef's tasting. that was enjoyable, then again its was 90 something per head for a corporate party.

Thanks for the clarification. We had great food and service. I'm looking forward to the menu. I'll report back not that it will sway you one way or another.

I chose to ignore that, LL, but it was hard. Really hard.
