Full disclosure…neither a mover or a shaker.
Went with a large group last week for my birthday.
Apps:
burnt ends, dumplings, tuna tataki, carpaccio, meatball…in that order. First three were fantastic. Carpaccio was ok. Meatball was very tender, but had a strong taste I think was raw garlic that was overpowering
Entrees:
Strip steak, scallops, veal Milanese, sea bass, lobster pasta. I did not have all these, but the steak and scallops were just about perfect. Others at the table had the veal, sea bass, and lobster, and they all raved about them.
Sides:
Spinach was great
Mashed potatoes were ok
Asparagus: others enjoyed it
Macaroni and cheese was great
Dessert: crème brûlée and butter cake were both very good.
Ambiance: a bit much
Service: tried a little too hard to convince me I was having a great meal
Overall: as good of a meal as I’ve had anywhere(that is limited for me) in a long time.
The scene is not really my thing. The service was very good. The food was great.
I’ll go back anytime someone else wants to foot the bill.

Never order dinner at a place that specializes in supper. That's like ordering Kung Pao chicken at a Mexican restaurant.

But did you see a lot of movers and shakers? Was anyone holding court in between courses?

Dinner= supper (though supper may seem a bit more rustic).

Noon meal is Lunch.

Except on Sunday, it can sometimes be dinner.

“Dinner” is your largest meal of the day

If you eat that meal at noon, you have supper that night.

If you eat that meal n the evening, you had lunch that day.

In rural Louisiana, anyway. Lol

So if my largest meal of the day is breakfast, then it’s my dinner?

I thought the Supperclub was going to be a failed restaurant by now, at least that’s what this board said…

And people who call lunch dinner get offended when people call supper dinner. People who call supper dinner give zero fawks what you call dinner.

Pretty sure most people gave it a few years. It hasn’t even been open one.

He forgot to mention the pricing since that is what most seem to complain about.

Yeah, it's run by the Landry Group - they have the capital to keep the lights on at a deficit for quite a while. I don't think anyone said it would close within a matter of months, that's just the narrative 6th&B wants people to believe so he can have a "gotcha" moment.
