Picked a 1/2 gallon earlier this evening. I left a bunch on the bush, thinking about making some blackberry dumplings.

I think it’s dewberries now and black berries later in the summer. Regardless I could take a bunch of those, smash them in a bowl with some milk and a little sugar and hurt myself.

Do that then pour it over a big slice of pound cake.

I have them in a litte salted water to kill the any bugs. Probably eat a few with a little ice cream.

Seriously. I love me some blackberries, but they are full of worms. They won't hurt you, but it's hard to get out of your head once you've seen them.

I’m going to the north Georgia blueberry harvest in June. Never been. Supposed to be epic.

This or Jam. Ate a lot of homemade blackberry cobler and jam growing up. Love the stuff.

Before you pour, take that slice of pound cake and brush a little butter on both sides. Put it on the grill for a little while.

Went yesterday and only got a handful. Most are still red here, so they are running later than last year. I just go around the edges of my neighborhood, and they’ve wiped out around half of my picking areas in the past couple years. And a couple of my best patches look pretty bare this year. I usually get in around 3 good picks, but I may only get one solid haul this year.

I've been watching the road sides the last couple weeks. I plan on going to a few spots next week, should be good to go by then.

After the rain we supposed to get this weekend all the red ones should get nice and plump!
